Plans are underway by Vietjet to make cheap flights to Brisbane a haul destination. From Brisbane, cheap flights will be made from Chi Minh City as from 2019. Vietjet Air’s commitment to Brisbane will be its first Australian port. It also is the first Low-Cost Carrier (LCC’s) to join the Brisbane Airport family with cheap flights.
Vietjet Air is offering a new destination; Chi Minh city from one of the associations of Southeast Asian Nation’s fastest-growing economies as from 2019.
The announcement to launch cheap flights was made following the signing of an MOU between Brisbane Airport Corporation and Madam Nguyen Thi Thuy Binh; the Vietjet Vice President at the Australia – Association of Southern Asian Nation’s Summit on the afternoon of March 17th, 2018. Brisbane Airport Corporation secured the services of launching cheap flights from Brisbane with Queensland’s Government support. This affiliation was under the Attracting Aviation Investment Fund along with partner Tourism and Events Queensland and a support from Trade and Investment Queensland. Julieanne Alroe, the Brisbane Airport Corporation CEO and Managing Director had this to say, “Travel between Queensland and Vietnam have been growing at an average 8 percent per annum over the last five years, with the new services set to further stimulate the market.”
“It makes perfect sense for Vietjet Air to choose Brisbane, Queensland as it very first Australian port for direct flights given Chi Minh City is one of Brisbane’s top five markets without direct services. “The economic growth of Vietnam is impressive, with these new services facilitating further education, tourism, and investment and trade opportunities with Vietnam, not only benefiting Brisbane but regional Queensland as well.“ We look forward to welcoming Vietjet Air to the Brisbane Airport family and further strengthening the ties between Queensland and Vietnam.”
Nguyen Thi Thuy Binh, Vietjet Air Vice President, said that Vietjet Air has been well prepared with comfortable, high-quality and friendly services to expand its international flight network to top destinations, connecting Vietnam’s business and tourism hubs with Asia Pacific countries, including Australia. The vice-president proclaimed her company’s pride in pioneering an airline that’ll make direct flights from Vietnam to Brisbane. Vietjet Air exclaimed its commitment to making a new and lively aviation wave. It would bring about this new airline wave by offering brand-new friendly services and flight safety. This eventually was going contributing to the development of tourism, investment, and trade exchange between Vietnam and Australia. Towards the end of 2011, Vietjet Air launched operations in Vietnam and become Vietnam’s largest domestic airlines. Looking forward to another international port this year in Delhi, Vietjet will rise in rankings.
